This is an Independant Portrayal of The Gorgon Medusa from Greek Mythology. this Portrayal will loosely follow existing origins and theories for Medusa as well as my own take and story. This account is no where near canon please keep that in mind as well as the fact that this is for fun. my rewriting does not exist to scrub or hide the atrocities that happen to her in many retellings but I wanted to go for a more romantic view on things to keep it a bit lighter for my own sake.

Medusa, once a beautiful woman devoted to a life of whorshiping Athena. She was born into this temple, raised by the priestesses the women of the temple was all she ever knew. one day after sneaking down to the beach she met a man, one far more beautiful than they have been described to her. she fell for him instantly that night, letting him lay her up on the sand as they spent the night in each other's arms. it wasn't until she returned to the temple at day break when she knew what she had accidentally done. Athena cursed Medusa for her Night on the beach with Poseidon, angry that the sacred vow of celibacy was easily disregarded. she tried to explain that she was seduced by sweet words and gentle touches but instead snakes began to grow from her head, her vision blurred as the women of the temple ran in fear as the young woman was transformed into a Gorgon before their eyes. while the temple had been abandoned Medusa stays there wishing one day Athena will take pity lift this curse.
